Be All You Can Be… in the Army!
When men begin boot camp, they are being trained and prepared for the unexpected. A part of boot camp is learning how to make accurate and fast decisions under pressure. It's learning how to overcome, go around, go over or re-route a course due to obstacles.
When God gave us His Word, He supplied us with truths that help us triumph over every situation in life. Romans 8:37: Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. By trusting in Him and by following His guidance we can overcome, go around, go over or re-route a course due to obstacles. He is our sufficiency in all things and He promises to meet our needs.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. II Corinthians 9:8
But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
As born again ones that love Him, because He first loved us; we should BE ALL THAT WE CAN BE FOR HIM!
In the adoption process, there are plenty of obstacles that can 'pop up' to prevent the successful placement of a child. How we deal with these obstacles often depends on how much we trust in God to work out the details. How much do we allow God to go to work for us? Are we are willing to listen to His still small voice to guide us and instruct us?
The American culture is generally spoiled and lazy. We are spoiled by fast food, fast driving lanes, disposable this 'n that, instant this 'n that, and generally like to have everything delivered to us without exerting any or much effort. But on a battlefield, the soldier who is spoiled and lazy loses the fight. Not because God was not able, but because the soldier refused to rely on God's ability to help him/her during the battle and to take the appropriate action. God can 'make a way where there is no way', but we have a responsibility to obey His guidance and direction.
As a parent who has chosen to place your child for adoption, your responsibility is to find the best family possible for your baby. Regardless of the obstacles or challenges to you or the adoptive couple. When God answers your prayer for a loving Christian couple for placement and you have that 'knowing in your heart' that God directed your steps, it is incumbent upon you to follow God's guidance. God can make a way for you to overcome any obstacles. It may be challenging and it may be tough, but God will direct your steps and answer your prayers.
You may encounter obstacles regarding the legal aspects of placement; local adoption laws, state adoption laws, and/or the filing of adoption paper work. Perhaps the details about the actual delivery process may be challenging; delivery location, possible inducement dates/plans, available physicians, and/or who will be present at birth. There are times when attorneys cause more problems and confusion than help in the placement process. However, overcoming obstacles is not a problem for our heavenly Father.
Life is full of challenges and obstacles -- that's life on this planet until the Lord returns. Daily we are challenged to be all we can be for our great God, and daily He delivers and answers prayer.
